ECE classes all feature the Tools of the Mind curriculum, a research-based approach centered on make-believe play that helps children develop the self-regulation skills — cognitive, social, and emotional — needed to become successful learners. Good self-regulation includes staying on task, ignoring distractions, holding multiple strategies in mind, and building self-discipline and motivation.
Teachers provide a truly individualized learning experience, understanding that our youngest students each follow a unique developmental path. Tools of the Mind integrates literacy, math, and logical thinking into theme-based play around units throughout the year — students learn by doing, driving much of their own experience through dramatization, creative writing, and games.
